About Cloer®

Over 125 years of Cloer®
From workshop to brand
Cloer stands for quality in timeless design – and has done so for over 125 years. When people think of Cloer®, many immediately think of waffle irons, and with good reason. After all, it was the founder, Caspar Cloer, who developed the heart-shaped waffle we all grew up with at the beginning of the 20th century.
The company looks back on a rich history, driven not only by passion but also by a long tradition. The family business is now run by the fourth generation and is often referred to as the ‘nation’s waffle maker’.
The distinctive design of the waffle makers – the large black frame that encloses the appliance – has always been retained in its basic form as a signature feature and applied to other products, so that anyone who has ever come into contact with Cloer products can immediately recognise them as belonging to the brand.
The product range now extends from coffee machines and kettles, through toasters and egg cookers, to barbecue and raclette grills, and much more. Alongside traditional products, the Cloer® development laboratories are constantly working on innovations. This year, for example, the Lunch Care System was launched – a complete system for home-cooked meals. Whether for everyday working life or leisure activities, anyone who wants to take control of their own diet will find the Lunch Care System a solution for everything – from preparation and storage in lunch boxes, to transport in an insulated bag, right through to gentle reheating in the hot steam of the meal box.
Just as innovative as the current product developments is the constant evolution of the company itself. The focus is on lean production. Cloer® is committed to digitalisation and the continuous improvement of manufacturing, logistics and business processes. This is achieved not least through the in-house training of tomorrow’s employees, who often remain loyal to the company for decades and help ensure the exceptional quality of the Cloer® brand.
